When I walk through a Woodstock home with buyers, I look beyond the square footage. I want to know how the space will work on an ordinary Tuesday.
Where do groceries land when you come through the door? Can guests reach a bathroom without walking through a bedroom? Will the living room fit your furniture without blocking a walkway?
A larger home can still leave you short on useful space. A smaller home may have a layout that fits your routine beautifully.
Here are five things I encourage buyers to check:
• The path from the parking area to the kitchen.
• Bedroom locations and privacy.
• Storage near the places you need it.
• Space for work, hobbies, and overnight guests.
• Stairs between the rooms you use most.
Think about your furniture, too. A room can look spacious during a showing and feel very different once your sofa, dining table, and desk move in.
Before you fall in love with a number on a listing, picture a full day in the home.
Planning a move in Woodstock or the surrounding area? Let’s find a home that fits the way you live.
